About Dakota

Dakota's entry into the music business was a bit by accident. She had been very vocal about how the bands were not quite making it at her high school dances and also at other school's dances.  After her consistent suggestions of bands she was asked if she didn't like the music to change it.  As Dakota liked to dance and attended many dances throughout the Los Angeles area as well as dancing on the local TV shows in LA as well as on American Bandstand she had easy access to some very good bands.

So she booked her first dance and then promoted the heck out of it and the end result was a packed dance and $700 in profit that the school at to that point had never made a profit at any dance.

Needless to say Dakota was asked to book more dances.  Then other schools began asking for Dakota's help. Suddenly she had a very successful business and expanded into booking proms and special concerts at a variety of schools and colleges in the Southern California area.

Having easy access to National acts also Dakota began to make the contacts and began booking national acts into the schools and colleges.  Many of the local national acts and upcoming bands were in LA and thus were conveniently and logistically easy to book.  Dakota began booking the Beachboys, Buffalo Springfield, the Doors, the Association, Canned Heat, the Strawberry Alarm Clock, and many other great local acts.

Her business was booming and she was now managing 9 bands and booking another 17 on a constant basis.

Then Dakota graduated from high school and had to leave her booking and management business behind.

But what was an ending on one phase of her life became a new opportunity to book and promote her own concerts at her college as well as other venues around the Southern California area.  Her first three concerts at her college were the Doors; Jimi Hendrix; and Cream and the Electric Flag on the same show.

Quickly that expanded into booking shows regularly in LA, San Bernardino, Santa Barbara, San Diego, San Jose, Phoenix, Albuquerque, Denver, Seattle, Portland, Hawaii, Vancouver, BC and many more cities through-out the Western US.

Music is a very magical and important part of Dakota's life and having the opportunity to work with all the wonderful bands, managers, venue staffs, as well as her own stage and promotional crew have been a major blessing and so very fulfilling.

She has always been up front with her tremendous thanx, gratitude and acknowledgment that those successes could not have happened without the help, energy and cooperation of all these incredible people.  For that she is eternally grateful and humbled.
